Uploading some books I made during a two-week intensive course at Ox-Bow. The class taught various binding techniques, but somehow these simple mini-books felt the most satisfying to make.

I guess because art imitates life, and I’ve always (or not always?) been a safe person. Basically I think it’s a lack of confidence…
Because bold marks are like bold statements. And if you make bold marks you’re going to make mistakes. And I guess that bothers me. (Regarding color, maybe also just a lack of practice)
It’s weird how art bleeds into life sometimes. Maybe I am afraid that if I “go bold” in art, that my “real life” will have to reflect that.
